Chocolate is Food for The Soul “Some days are made oh-so-much-better when we can enjoy a sweet piece of intense dark chocolate. The days when we need to draw on our deepest energy reserves and we really don’t have much to give. This reservoir of energy is called Jing or Essence in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Just like a leafless tree in the winter time uses its roots to draw nutrition from deep within the earth; we draw on our Essence reserve when we need extra energy to get us through.”

Wildlife Conservation & Elephant Sanctuary in Thailand  “My favourite part was seeing the elephants, of course. These are retired elephants and there are no rides or performances. It’s just you and the animal, which you can feed or shower and even go for a walk with. That was the high-light for me, to see this beautiful giant forage through the scrub. Picking leaves and enjoying the outdoors as it would be in the wild or at least close to it.”

Thai Sak Yant, Sacred Tattoo & Buddha Magic “The belief is  the tattoo will bring good luck, protection, prosperity and blessings to the wearer. The telltale designs are of mythical beings, animal spirits, ancient script and geometric designs. These tattoos are often seen on monks and various “believers” and since Angelina Jolie had her famous tattoo done the art is more popular than ever.”

Acupuncture at the Buddhist Temple  “Two days later I treated six people at the temple and the following week I treated 12! That takes some serious managing, especially when you don’t have all of your equipment with you. It is some of the most satisfying work I have done up to this point. The cultural and community experience is yet another affirmation you don’t need a lot of things to be happy, rather a group of kind-hearted people to share stories with.”

Thai Life & Lost Souls “The challenge is to bring my healing work to a new and unfamiliar location. It’s interesting to note how much we rely on our surroundings to bring forth our gifts. What really counts is what you bring when you have nothing external to help.”

Thoughts on Beauty “The moment I discovered a wider meaning and appreciation of beauty, it opened up my acceptance to my own. I chose to see beauty in myself and others without judgement and excessive preening or obsessive ritual. I gave up reading women’s magazines- one of the best things I ever did for my self-esteem. Giving up means they were somewhat addictive. Any habitual behaviour is addictive in its nature. Your thought processes are as addictive as your cup of coffee (or tea!) in the morning.”

Dream Interpretation “I believe your dreams are one way to understand the deeper workings of your inner world, the aspects, deep-seated beliefs and patterns that can only be revealed to you when your conscious mind is switched off. I also believe your dreams are unique only to yourself and you are the best person to interpret them.”

A Woman’s Vulnerability “Women on the Western side of the world “have it all”. We have the independence to make choices about every aspect of our lives from our personal relationships to the children we choose to bare and our career preferences. Having equality is a gift but occasionally every woman is reminded of the vulnerabilities of what it is to be female.”

Inspiration + Creation “I believe that inspiration is channeled and it can’t be forced. As soon as you try controlling inspiration it escapes and it’s elusive by nature. If you don’t follow it through its fleeting window, all of a sudden the dizzy puff of gold dust is gone and all is left is stale grey void. The good thing is it will always return if you allow it.”

Musing on Nature “Nature is one of my biggest muses. I’ll visit some of my favourite spots regularly and they don’t seem to change, except seasonally. In truth they are always changing because that is the nature of Time. Time isn’t the numbers on the clock or the year you are born in. According to nature time repeats itself over and over again. Time is Change. If how you perceive reality alters your reality then how you perceive time does too. The only evidence of time we have is the clock and the calendar and a historical account of events.”

10 Foods for Vibrant Skin “Healthy skin is beautiful skin and is something we can only achieve by nourishing it from the inside out and also using only natural products. Its functions are underestimated when compared to the rest of the bodily systems but without the skin, we simply couldn’t survive.”

Yoga for Fertility “Asana, breathing techniques and meditation can stimulate and relax the blood flow to the pelvic area, uterus and digestive organs. Applying small amounts of stress like this stimulates the healing and repair mechanisms, similar to how acupuncture stimulates healing through the prick of a needle.”

Natural Skin Detox “Acne prone skin can be a nightmare. Have you ever felt so frustrated that no matter how well you eat, what you use and what you take, it seems to have a mind of its own?”

Lemonade “The most simple and useful home recipe is lemonade. It is good for your health but it is also one of life’s little pleasures on a warm and sunny day.”

Yoga and the Menstrual Cycle “The ultimate difference between a man and a woman is her ability to conceive and birth children. With this gift of conception and giving life comes the challenge and acceptance of the menstrual cycle.”

A Yogi’s Breakfast “During the nights sleep the body goes through a healing and rejuvenating process. Any wear and tear that occurred during the day now has a chance to repair itself in the night.”

Detoxifying Natural lemonade “The most simple and useful home recipe is lemonade. It is good for your health but it is also one of life’s little pleasures on a warm and sunny day.”
